A disturbing espionage case has surfaced in Punjab amid the ongoing investigation into the recent Delhi terror attack. Security agencies have arrested a 15-year-old boy for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI. The case has raised serious concerns over how foreign agencies are targeting Indian minors through digital platforms.

Minor Detained in Espionage Probe

Police officials confirmed that several people are under custody as part of a wider crackdown linked to the Delhi terror attack. During this probe, investigators identified a suspected spy network connected to Pakistan. In a major breakthrough, police detained a 15-year-old boy from Pathankot district in Punjab for allegedly sharing sensitive information with ISI handlers.

According to officials, the boy remained in touch with Pakistani agents for nearly a year. During this period, he allegedly passed details related to Indian military bases and other sensitive locations. Investigators believe the communication happened mainly through online platforms.

ISI Targeting Youth Through Social Media

Senior police officers revealed that the investigation exposed a dangerous pattern. Pakistani intelligence operatives are reportedly using fake social media accounts to trap Indian youth, especially minors. These agents befriend teenagers online, slowly gain their trust, and then extract confidential information.

Police sources said that several minors from Punjab have shown links with ISI operatives. Some of them reportedly communicated with handlers based across the border using encrypted messaging apps and social media platforms.

Statewide Alert Issued in Punjab

Following the arrest, senior officials alerted all police stations across Punjab. Authorities have intensified surveillance to identify other minors who may have fallen into similar traps. Police teams are now closely monitoring online activities, digital footprints, and travel movements of vulnerable youth in border districts.

Officials stressed that the focus remains on prevention as much as enforcement. Police are working with cybercrime units to track suspicious accounts and dismantle online networks used by foreign agencies.

Growing Security Concern

Security experts warn that the involvement of minors highlights a worrying shift in espionage methods. By targeting young minds, hostile agencies aim to destabilize the country from within. Officials have urged parents to monitor their children’s online interactions and report suspicious behavior immediately.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities expect more arrests as they continue to uncover the full extent of the espionage network operating in northern India.
