Hyderabad: In a significant development in the ongoing drugs case, Aman Preet Singh, brother of popular film actress Rakul Preet Singh, has approached the High Court seeking to quash the case registered against him by the Masab Tank police.

Police booked Aman Preet Singh under various sections of the law for allegedly purchasing drugs from local vendors. The case has drawn public attention due to his connection with the film industry.

Case Registered at Masab Tank Police Station

The Masab Tank police registered the case following a series of drug raids conducted in Hyderabad. Investigators accused Aman of purchasing banned substances from drug peddlers operating in the city.

According to police records, Aman has remained absconding since the registration of the case. However, he recently filed a petition before the High Court, challenging the legality of the FIR lodged against him.

Petition Seeks Stay on Investigation

In his petition, Aman Preet Singh requested the court to issue interim orders halting further investigation in the case. He argued that the police acted without sufficient evidence and sought relief from coercive action.

The High Court heard the petition on Wednesday. After preliminary arguments, the court adjourned the matter. The next hearing has been scheduled for the 9th of this month.

Drugs Seized During December Raids

The case traces back to December 19 last year, when Hyderabad police carried out drug raids in the Masab Tank area. During the operation, officers seized cocaine and MDMA, leading to the arrest of several accused.

During interrogation, the arrested suspects allegedly revealed Aman Preet Singh’s involvement. Based on their statements, police named Aman in the case and intensified the investigation.

Police Claim Multiple Drug Purchases

Investigators claim that Aman purchased drugs six times within one month, according to evidence gathered during the probe. Police sources say they are verifying transaction details and communication records linked to the case.

Meanwhile, the development has sparked discussions in legal and film circles. However, Rakul Preet Singh has not issued any public statement regarding the matter so far.

What Lies Ahead

With the High Court now seized of the matter, the focus shifts to the upcoming hearing. The court’s decision on interim relief could play a crucial role in determining the future course of the investigation.

Until then, the case remains under close watch as authorities continue to pursue legal procedures in the high-profile drugs investigation.
