Delhi is getting ready for grand Republic Day celebrations with strict security and safety plans. Authorities have stepped up arrangements across the city to ensure the event passes without any disruption.
The Army, Navy, and Air Force have completed preparations for the parade at Kartavya Path. Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force has begun intensive rehearsals for its aerial display involving fighter jets and helicopters.
To prevent bird strikes during these low-altitude flights, officials have taken a special precaution. As part of this plan, authorities ordered 1,275 kilograms of chicken ahead of the celebrations.
Officials will use the chicken to feed birds of prey, especially hawks. This step helps control bird movement near sensitive flight zones. Bird hits can cause serious danger to aircraft during aerial maneuvers.
Therefore, authorities planned a meat-feeding programme from January 15 to January 26. The programme will cover nearly 20 locations, including the Red Fort and Jama Masjid areas.
By feeding birds at fixed spots, officials aim to keep them away from parade routes and air corridors. This measure reduces risk and ensures smooth air operations.
With these safety steps in place, Delhi is set to host a secure and memorable Republic Day celebration.
