Young Indian cricketer and Mumbai opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was hospitalised after suffering from severe stomach pain during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match in Pune on Tuesday. The incident occurred during Mumbai’s league match against Rajasthan, raising concern among fans and team management.

According to sources, Jaiswal experienced intense abdominal pain while the match was in progress. Although he continued playing initially, his condition worsened after the game ended. As a precautionary measure, team officials rushed him to the Aditya Birla Hospital for immediate medical attention.

Doctors Diagnose Acute Gastroenteritis

Following a series of medical examinations, including ultrasound and CT scans, doctors diagnosed Jaiswal with acute gastroenteritis, a digestive system-related illness. As per a report by The Times of India, doctors administered treatment and advised the youngster to take adequate rest and continue medication.

Meanwhile, medical sources indicated that there is no serious complication, and Jaiswal’s condition is currently stable. The Mumbai team management is closely monitoring his recovery before taking a call on his participation in upcoming matches.

Mumbai Clinch Thrilling Win Over Rajasthan

Despite Jaiswal’s early exit, Mumbai registered a thrilling three-wicket victory over Rajasthan in a high-scoring encounter. Chasing a massive target of 217 runs, Jaiswal managed to score 15 runs off 16 balls before getting out.

However, the match turned dramatically in Mumbai’s favour thanks to a stunning partnership between captain Ajinkya Rahane and Sarfaraz Khan. Rahane remained unbeaten on 72 off 41 balls, while Sarfaraz played a sensational knock of 73 runs off just 22 balls, smashing seven sixes and six fours.

In addition, Atharva Ankolekar played a crucial cameo, scoring 26 runs off 9 balls, which helped Mumbai chase down the target with 11 balls to spare.

Fans Wish Jaiswal a Speedy Recovery

As news of Jaiswal’s hospitalisation spread, fans and cricket experts took to social media to wish the young opener a speedy recovery. With crucial domestic and international commitments ahead, all eyes are now on his health update in the coming days.
