The Telangana government has announced important relief for the transgender community. With a focus on welfare and inclusion, the Revanth Reddy-led government has introduced a self-employment support scheme for the financial year 2025–26. Through this scheme, the government aims to help transgenders live with dignity and financial independence.

Financial Support With Full Subsidy

Under this scheme, the government will provide financial assistance of up to ₹75,000 to eligible transgender persons. Moreover, the loan comes with a 100% subsidy, which means beneficiaries do not need to repay the amount. As a result, the scheme reduces financial pressure and encourages self-reliance.

In addition, the assistance can be used for skill training or to start small businesses. Therefore, beneficiaries can choose work that suits their skills and interests.

Who Can Apply for the Scheme?

According to officials, transgender persons aged between 18 and 55 years can apply for this benefit. However, applicants must submit valid documents and meet the eligibility rules set by the department.

Meanwhile, the government has approved 30 self-employment units for Hyderabad district in the current phase. Hence, applicants from the district should apply without delay.

Application Process and Deadline

Interested candidates can submit their applications at the Department of Empowerment of the Disabled, Elderly and Transgenders, located at Manoranjan Complex in Nampally, Hyderabad. Alternatively, they can download the application form from the official website wdsc.telangana.gov.in.

Importantly, the last date to apply is January 31. After submission, a district-level committee will review the applications and select eligible candidates.

Contact Details for Assistance

For further details or guidance, applicants can contact the helpline number 9640452773. Officials have urged eligible persons to apply early to avoid last-minute issues.

Overall, this initiative highlights the Telangana government’s commitment to equality, social welfare, and inclusive growth.
